Citing a "reprisal" by the Indian government against its human rights work, Amnesty International said Tuesday that it has been forced to lay off staff and halt operations in India.
In , the watchdog accused India's Hindu nationalist government of "an incessant witch-hunt" against human rights organizations that have revealed, as well as on alleged misconduct by that killed dozens of mostly Muslim civilians.
