Covid-19 hits local NPOs HARD

Nonprofit organisations (NPOs) are a critical component in most informal townships or rural settlements, offering empowering services that either upskill, educate or provide nutrition for those with no other source of assistance.

However, if the Covid-19 pandemic – which has blitzed through the country, infecting more than 600 000 people and killing more than 16 000 – has proven anything, it’s that no sector has been left unaffected, least of all the NPOs destitute communities rely on.
