This is the first record I ever bought. It cost a dollar. I was about 11 years old, and I remember trudging up the hill to our house with this single in my hand. I had heard Elvis sing it on the radio, and I just had to have it – and I had seen Elvis on too, at least from the waist up, and that was a huge moment also. He blew up the culture, and it was a big deal. Of course, a few years later The Beatles showed upand that also was as big a deal in a different way.
