FORWARD THINKING

IN DECEMBER 2012, Donald Trump tweeted, “I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.” Considering he became the President of the United States four years later, love him or loathe him, he was as good as his word in that instance. The second owner of this 1988 XJ-S was clearly someone else who thought big. When it came to modifying the car in the late Nineties, he could have just added bigger wheels and slightly upgraded the 3.6-litre straight-six, but instead he totally transformed it into one of the fastest, most driver-focused examples I’ve driven.
