WATCH OUT FOR PEOPLE

It was a 5am start for Bailey Mahon down at Fingal Head off the Tweed Coast in northern NSW. According to Bailey: “The sunrise colours turned out beautifully and the unique shaped rocks just made the composition look stunning. The movement of the waves crashing and the fishermen casting their rods created a dynamic and beautiful scene.”

Amazing rock formations, nice colour and dramatic weather conditions provide powerful subject matter here. The composition is quite strong with the water channel leading diagonally into the scene from the bottom left corner.

However, including the back of the fisherman on the right does not quite work as his dark clothing mostly merges into the rocks. When including a figure in the scene, a strong silhouette that stands out
