Born in the Philippines in 1929, Teresita Basa was known by friends and family as quiet, shy and unassuming.
A member of the Filipino aristocracy, Teresita was a trained musician, welltravelled. In the Sixties, she left the Philippines to move to America.
While there, she studied music and worked as a respiratory therapist at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago.
Just as she had in the Philippines, Teresita lived a quiet, humble life as a single woman, alone in a small apartment in the city.
