John Douglas, the legendary FBI criminal profiler and veteran author of true crime books, has spent over twenty-five years researching and culling the stories of America’s most disturbing criminals. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he has directly worked and/or had overall supervision in over 5,000 violent crime cases over the past 48 years. This book opens our awareness about the seriousness of criminals, whether they are sex offenders, serial killers, stalkers, or murderers, by letting understand us how important is to identify them, how to fight back if we are caught in a dangerous situation, and more over, opens our eyes about the real possibilities of rehabilitation for those paroled with criminal records.

I love when I discover a book that not only teaches me new things, but makes me see the world and people with new eyes. This book takes you through horrifying murders, but before you lose your hope in humanity, it brings forth the courage and amazing personalities of the victims and their loved ones. I will listen to all this author's books.
