The ANC’s selective honesty is bound to backfire

Selective honesty is a strategy used by the ANC and its president to disarm the nation. The essence of deception is distraction. South African citizens have been subjected to political mind games by the ANC’s leaders and members for many years, using age-old strategies: “selective honesty” and “giving before you take”. These are tactics mostly used by those aspiring to power, scrambling for votes or already in power.

The tactic is to disarm potential victims by either promising to give them something or generously doing so to take more later, without arousing suspicions regarding the actual intention.
