NYONE WHO LOVES IRELAND, and more particularly its wonderfully varied wild country, sooner or later will find their way to the Galtees, which run for six high miles between the Glen of Aherlow and the N8 between Caher and Mitchelstown. They come as a surprise. If I were asked off the cuff to give a couple of words that best encapsulate their character, I’d flail around for a time and then come up with something along the lines of lumpen and glowering.
