In some ways cars can be like houses. You want the big, four-bed house with a garage but first you need a do-er-upper two-bed to sell on and fund the actual goal, using the first project as a stepping-stone, which is is the approach Chris Watson took.
“I was keen to take on a restoration project and fancied restoring an MGA. However the prices for those proved to be too expensive, even for a nonrunner, so I decided to restore a 1972 MGB whilst still keeping my MG TC,” explains Chris. Once the restoration of the B Roadster was complete Chris then enjoyed the car and showed it, before selling it to fund his next project.
“In 2016 I started my search. I found an MGA, after a few weeks, which had been brought back from the States in 1990 and bought by a Mr Pay as a restoration project.” For reasons unknown progress was limited and he had only got as far as fitting a right-hand-drive steering
