Massey Ferguson 550

Q After using my MF 550 for haymaking this summer, I noticed oil gathering around the mounting pin of the left-hand lower link arm. On investigation I noticed that the pin is loose and is working its way out of the axle housing.

Having seen this I am reluctant to use the tractor until it’s been rectified, as I’m not only losing oil, but if I use the three-point linkage it may cause irreparable damage to the axle casing. How easy is it to rectify, and can I do it myself with reasonable mechanical knowledge? Ian Spencer, via e-mail

The attachment pins for the lower links are secured
