Ugly Bugs & Crazy Ladies

“AS GREAT AS THIS FISHERY IS, you you can still be humbled—especially if you’re on your own,” says Casper, Wyoming-based guide and fly shop manager Addie Dees, referring to the North Platte, a healthy and productive trout river that flows some 200 miles out of North Park, Colorado, before passing through downtown Casper. “Let’s figure out how to be more selfsufficient when we’re out there.”

Dees was speaking to attendees of the “Ugly Bugs and Crazy Ladies” flyfishing program, which was launched in May after her and fellow guide CiCi Oliver brainstormed ways to increase female participation in this town of 60,000.
