Q Have you any tips for the rocker cover gasket on the threecylinder 35? I have replaced it twice, but after some time it starts to weep oil. Am I tightening it down too much?

A The pressed steel rocker covers of Perkins 3.152 engines are known to be a source of escape for engine oil. Generally, when I’ve rebuilt engines on MF 35 and 135 tractors in the past, I have always used a light coating of ‘instant gasket’ on each side of the gasket when refitting, as a 'belt and braces' approach.
