Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd. is a name synonymous with Ford tractors and conversions, but the company’s roots go back to 1898, when Ernest took on the lease of a blacksmith’s premises in Ulting, Essex.
The business prospered from shoeing horses and repairing implements, and by 1910 Ernest had bought the freehold and a neighbouring farm, but it would be another 10 years before tractors featured in the company’s day-to-day operations.
