QUAD VS HORSE
There is an old saying which states that you could use a Welsh Cob for farm work all week and, on a Saturday, it could take the farmer out for a full day's hunting. Then, on a Sunday, it could pull the cart to take the family to the chapel. All of this was possible with one animal because Welsh Cobs were said to be incredibly versatile all-rounders.

Large draught horse breeds like the Shire, Clydesdale and Suffolk Punch had far more physical strength for heavy farm work, but they couldn't trot at speed for ten miles pulling a cart to market like a Welsh Cob. Another advantage the Welsh Cob had was that they could thrive on far less fodder than a larger breed, they could survive in rougher terrain and in a much harsher climate
