The 2020 Design Challenge

When the Royal Yacht was decommissioned in 1997 as a cost-cutting measure, not everyone was ready to say farewell. Plans for a new royal yacht have been drawn up by British design studios Bannenberg & Rowell and Winch Design, to no avail. The matter was brought back into the imagination at the end of last year, when it was reported that Sir Donald Gosling had left £50 million for the cause in his will.
