Yacht: Komokwa Length: 135ft Year: 2009 Location: Vancouver

We’re still hoping to head up to the west coast of the Queen Charlotte Islands [now known as Haida Gwaii]. I’ve been there many times, mainly to the Langara Fishing Lodge, just north of Graham Island, the most northerly of the two main islands. But I’ve never been there before in my own boat They’re a desolate group of islands with a population of less than 5,000. The islands occupy 3,931 square miles, which makes them nearly four times larger Yes, it is exposed, but there are numerous bays that offer shelter. We will be in one of them on the west coast of Graham Island from which we will fish from a smaller tender equipped for fishing both salmon and halibut The Charlottes are full of wildlife. The islands are frequented by orcas, gray and humpback whales as well as porpoises, sea lions and seals. There are also marine birds plus ravens and eagles We have received two offers, both just a little under a number acceptable to me. It only takes one buyer and I am very patient as her sale is a bittersweet experience for me. As soon as she goes, I will replace her with a yacht that has nearly all her features, but it will be less than 30 meters [100ft] and 200GT to avoid the laundry list of regulations for vessels above that size
