n today’s modern ‘PC’ world, Cecil Rhodes would have been dubbed as a great white supremist. He was also at the time, one of the richest men in the world and an unashamed hardened Imperialist. His manipulative tactics are legendary in the convoluted history of the British conquest of black Africa. However his aspirations of building a railway from Cape to Cairo to assert authority and stimulate economic growth remains an unfulfilled dream.
