‘I wanted to create bubbles with benefits’
Ellie Bradshaw, 49, lives in Cornwall with her daughter Victoria, 18. Ellie created Wild Life Botanicals, an ultra-low alcohol sparkling wine infused with an elixir of vitamins, minerals and botanicals.
THE IDEA
During my career in hospitality, I learned to appreciate great wine. But as a busy working mum to Victoria, I was also always on speed dial as a ‘Mum taxi’. Taxi services are limited in Cornwall! Sparkling water seemed boring and elderflower pressé was full of sugar. I wanted a grown-up soft drink that appealed to my dry white wine palate.
I wondered if I could create such a drink, but the million-pound question was whether there was any demand.
Researching, I felt confident there was a growing ‘mindful drinking’ movement.
Seven in 10 adults in the UK are now ‘sober curious’ and I wanted to give them something for special, yet sober, occasions.
