As most of you should have figured out by now, the primary purpose of the CQ DX column is NOT to provide you with timely DX and DXpedition information, but rather to highlight the overall picture of DXing in various ways. As I have mentioned in the past, the best way to get current, up-to-date information is to subscribe to one of the DX news resources available. This month, I asked Bernie McClenny, W3UR, to tell us the history of his “The Daily DX” email newsletter, which was started in 1997 and has become one of the primary resources for keeping up with DX events and news. A Day in the Life of a DX Newsletter Editor
As a teenager while taking printshop in high school, I often wondered what it would be like printing out my own DX newsletter. As a budding DXer, I remembered DX News Sheet by BRS-3129, Geoff Watts; the West Coast DX Bulletin by WA6AUD, Professor Cass; The DX Bulletin by VP2ML/WB2CHO, Chod Harris; the Long Island DX Bulletin by W2IYX, Harvey McCoy; and QRZ DX by W5KNE, Bob Winn.
