Trout in the Time of COVID-19

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit our islands, there were many concerns for everyone to consider. For the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) on Kaua‘i, one of those concerns was how to ensure a safe, responsible opening of the rainbow trout season. Rainbow trout fishing in Koke‘e has been a tradition for people not only from Kaua‘i, but from around the entire state of Hawai‘i since 1920. It is a fun family activity that many look forward to every year.
