Completing another lap, Matt Jones exclaims: “This is one of the best pump tracks I’ve ever ridden!” That’s no small compliment, coming from the Red Bull and Marin-sponsored pro. The Wroughton Pump Track was made possible by the volunteer group BMX Wroughton – local parents and children who, with help from the local council, provided a free cycling facility for the area. And they did a bloody good job! As Matt puts it: “There aren’t many pump tracks with 5ft-high features and steep lips.” While most of the track is pretty traditional, it’s a cool addition that lets Matt smash out a backflip without warning.
