WOMEN’S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS

Perhaps we should start talking about the issue of women abuse from the premise that under no circumstances should women be abused or violated, that there is no justification whatsoever for the abuse and that women have a right to life.

We should not be jolted into action only when a woman has been killed. We have to prevent the abuse and the killing of women.

There appears to be a war between black women and society, which needs to end. We need to acknowledge openly that the lives of black women do not appear to matter. We need to be frank and accept that, by the way they are treated, we do not believe that black women, in particular, have human
