Municipal consultants fail to deliver

Spending R249 million on consultants has not really helped Limpopo municipalities to manage their budgets, as only one of 27 municipalities received a clean audit outcome for the 2018/19 financial year.
Auditor-general Kimi Makwetu said only six Limpopo municipalities – Capricorn District (in Polokwane), Waterberg District (Modimolle), Vhembe District (Thohoyandou), Mopani District (Giyani) and Collins Chabane (Malamulele) – improved their audit outcomes from the previous financial year.
