Living up to the Ayew name
KICK OFF: The Coronavirus has brought a lot of heartache and uncertainty in the world, how challenging had it been?
Jordan Ayew: It’s something that we never expected to happen or that things would end up like this with the league suspended. But today, I think for the world, it is a difficult experience. It is something no-one will forget. It has affected our lives and disrupted everything. Everyone will have to adjust to new routines and it’s a difficult situation because I have almost 90% of my family here [in England], but also relatives in Ghana.
With your Mom and Dad being in Ghana…?
We are always worried. Every morning we make phone calls and try to find out if everyone is fine. For now, I’m relieved that everyone is still fine. But for the world, my country and across Africa, I pray for everyone to stay safe. This is something that has devastated the whole world. This is about health and hopefully the rules and guidelines from authorities can be obeyed and we stay safe. We must keep going and I hope everyone can get their lives back or get back to whatever work
