on my bike at the top, clipped in and ready for action, I have one hand bracing against a tree and the other holding the brake lever. There’s a good chance I might not let it go. Aside from the ice on the trail, which has raised the odd comment and taken a few inspections, everyone around me appears far more at ease with what’s to come. I try to convince myself that it won’t be that bad. Vero asks to go first, because she needs more speed to clear the jumps than her brother Leo and trail builder Danny, the other two riders in our four-person train. This is my first time hitting Revolution’s ‘Vision Line’ – a jump line
