promises Sam Pilgrim at the start of his video documenting the day I’m spending with him, shooting this feature around Ipswich. Epic is probably not the first word that springs to mind when you think of Ipswich, but when Sam’s involved, there’s every possibility that the day will turn out that way. And anyway, he says just that at the start of most of his videos. His relentless – and slightly tongue-in-cheek – enthusiasm, mixed with an incredible ability on the bike (and whatever else he rides in his videos), usually does make for an epic day out. Sam rides a bunch of different bikes, seamlessly swapping between his Haibike e-MTB, trail bike and hardtail jump bike depending on what he’s doing. He’s not scared of trying different things either – tricycles, MTB quads, drift bikes, scooters and even surfboards feature in the videos he makes
