SECRETS OF VENICE

Venice is a magical city: dreamy with its winding canals, and majestic with its opulent, crumbling – quite unlike anywhere else in the world. But the city centre is small and can become crowded, especially in peak tourist season, which is when I like to travel off the beaten track and explore the islands in the surrounding lagoon area. Here, life moves with a distinctly slower, lazier pace – there is a peace about life on the islands, and a rich culinary tradition to discover. If you have the time on your next visit to Venice, I highly recommend taking a boat out on a sunny summer’s day and heading for lunch on
