FLUTTERING BEAUTIES
I wanted to share my butterfly quilt with you. I just loved the butterflies found in The World of Cross Stitching issues 253 (April 2017), 254 (May 2017) and 255 (June 2017). I cross stitched the ‘Fluttering Beauties’ and asked my daughter Valerie to design and piece the quilt. It was then machine quilted by Joyce Barkley. Valerie found the perfect fabric to complement my butterflies. We called the quilt ‘Wish Upon A Butterfly’. It was a great mother/daughter project and it was recently displayed in a quilt show, where it won second place.

Sue: Congratulations on finishing such a magnificent project, Ethel – and for your win at the quilt show! It sounds like you really enjoyed the whole process of bringing the quilt together and sharing the experience with your daughter. I love the fabric choices – they really go well with the butterflies rather than distracting from them. Thank you so much for sharing this project with us.
