Folded Flower

This folded origami-style flower floats on a background fabric. Because the folding process is done with a steam iron to give really sharp edges and corners, avoid thicker fabrics and choose a fabric for the flower that responds well to folding and pressing. If you think it might help to spray-starch the fabric, do so before cutting the 8½in square. If you cut the square out first and then starch it, the finished piece will distort during the process and will not measure the required 8½in square.
