Folded Cathedral Window

One of my great patchwork passions is the Cathedral Window, and over the years this has extended to all things folded, curved back and manipulated.The technique for this block is a great Cathedral Window look-alike; all the effect yet easier and more stable.

Each block is constructed from a large square of fabric for the centre, plus four smaller squares, which make up the corners of the block. An extra square of fabric is used to make the window, which is added to the block using the usual Cathedral Window method. An added interest is given by adding a rolled-back curve at each corner of the block.

In case you are into even more miniature, the instructions are for two sizes: either the full 6in finished size or a smaller version 4½in square, which has a little border of strips and cornerstones to bring
