    Argyll Archives preserves the heritage of Argyll and Bute, including the burghs of Campbeltown, Dunoon, Inveraray, Lochgilphead, Oban and Tobermory. The earliest record held here is the Rothesay Charter of 1400. Resources for genealogy include memorial inscriptions, registers of electors and valuation rolls, plus poor relief records, school admission registers and estate records.
