Higher education became much more accessible to our ancestors in 19th and early 20th century Britain as new universities opened. Swansea University was one such institution, founded in 1920. In its 100th anniversary year, Emily Hewitt, assistant archivist at the university’s Richard Burton Archives, reveals the first issue of a beloved university institution – the student newspaper.
