The programme gives us a quick-fire look at an eclectic mix of species: tapirs, who use their short, prehensile trunks as snorkels; scarab beetles who dine out on dung; and viscachas – rabbit-like rodents “tailor-made for living in the unforgiving Altiplano environment” – to name a few.

Rather than taking an in-depth look at only a few species, a variety of interesting and unusual biology and ecology are given their five minutes
