LOW-DENSITY WARPING

01 At the bottom left-hand side of the loom, tie the warp thread onto one of the notches with a square knot – turn to page 85 for instructions. Keeping a firm tension, bring the thread up to the top of the loom and wrap the thread around the corresponding notch towards the right.

02 Bring the thread back down to the bottom of the loom and wrap the thread around the next notch to the right – not the same notch the warp thread was tied onto. Bring it back up to the top of the loom.

03 Using a firm tension, continue to warp the loom as per Steps 1 and 2 until you have your desired warp width.

04 Cut the warp thread, leaving a 10cm (4") tail to tie off with. To tie off, loop the end around the last warp thread on the loom with the tail coming through the loop, then pull to close the knot. Repeat this knot again to secure it – this is another version of a double half hitch knot. Trim the thread tails shorter if preferred.
