New way to control squirrels and help trees

An oral contraceptive that would stop grey squirrels breeding is being trialled by the Animal and Plant Health Agency, part of Defra. The National Trust has announced that if the trial is successful, it will start using it on its sites in the next couple of years. The Woodland Trust also tells us that it would consider using it too.
