The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series is a stylish and humorous homage to mid-20th century New York City in all its glory, including late-night smoky clubs and old-time showbiz ambitions. Budding stand-up comic Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) dresses demurely and talks about what she knows: her parents, her ex, her now also ex-in-laws, her kids and life... with a dash of raunch. She doesn’t know it yet, but the Civil Rights Movement and Women’s Lib are right around the corner.
