ometime art-rocker and rising scoring star Tamar-kali builds on previous high (2017) with another show of tense innovation. Keeping her reins tight, she uses chamber settings to generate a contained fever-pitch intensity for Josephine Decker's Elisabeth Moss-starring psychodrama. Scuttling strings and sonorous pianos merge headily, accompanied by marvellously haunting chorale voicework: ‘The Summoning’ sounds like ‘Into The Unknown’ possessed.
