THIS MONTH GOING TO A DRIVE-IN CINEMA.
On Saturday 11 July, I was thrilled to pull into an industrial estate in North London to watch . Partly, I was excited because I, like everyone else, had not been to a cinema for four months, since Covid-19 shut theatre doors. Mostly, though, I was elated because I’d wanted to experience a drive-in ever since I was six’s Olivia Newton-John slammed John Travolta’s balls in a car door just before he crooned ‘Sandy’ (hitting all the high notes, naturally) in front of a somersaulting sausage.
