Over the past few months, gym bunnies have been converting their living rooms, kitchens and gardens into mini fitness stations. But for most of us, our homes can now return to normal with the reopening of gyms in England and Wales following the move in Northern Ireland last month.

However, there are new guidelines for your workout to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19, which include:

• spacing out equipment to maintain social distancing, with workout spaces clearly marked so everyone is at least 2m apart;

• reducing exercise class sizes and allowing sufficient time between each class
