Lowering my body into the warm water, I breathed a sigh of relief. ‘Won’t be long now,’ the midwife smiled.
It was 21 September 2008, and I was having a water birth at Poole Hospital, my husband Rod, now 50, by my side.
We were expecting a little boy, and throughout my pregnancy, all the scans had shown he was fine.
With my daughter Georgia, then three, at home, we knew we were about to be a family of four, and we couldn’t wait.
