12 GO MAD IN MONGOLIA
When the going gets tough, it’s tough. Another long day, all off-road with tricky volcanic passes strewn with sharp boulders, lots of river crossings and worse. It had started well with a 6.45am solo dip in the hot springs as the sun came up. Then in the first mile we fitted one new clutch, a new plug to another bike and Cara’s clutch started to slip.
Mongolian menace has been lurking in the group; symptoms are emergency evacuations in both directions, along with feeling very unwell. One of us has been struck down badly and spent all day yesterday in the support truck, the spare mechanic riding her bike. Chris isn't looking at all well, and even stops abusing me! By midday it's clear he is suffering a lot, leaves the road twice, and by mid-afternoon he’s in the truck, too. Hopefully better in the morning.
