THE RETURN of live rugby in the form of Super Rugby Aotearoa and AU has seen the lawmakers under scrutiny after their tightening of the breakdown laws.

World Rugby chairman Bill Beaumont promised a focus on “the ball-carrier playing or placing the ball immediately, the tackler releasing immediately, rewarding the player who wins the race to the contest, and penalising side entry and players who dive into rucks”.
