The big chill

ith a thirst for industrial design and big change, Orion Creamer, along with his uncle Thom Vernon, set out was born, which boasts an era-authentic pivoting chrome handle and a stamped metal body—with all of the functionalities of its modern counterparts. “I’ve always loved retro design and grew up antiquing with my family. I remember scouring junkyards and vintage shops for period piece refrigerators. I would remove the doors and put them on the wall as art installations,” says Orion. “As I got older, my passion for old-school style and growing knowledge of product design evolved. In an era that is dominated by safe, neutral tones and refrigerators that hide behind cabinetry-like doors, we wanted to have a unique point of view. I tapped into those memorable colors that were inspired by cars and kitchens of the 1950s, brightened them for an even bolder take, and made them a prominent part of our Original Retro collection.” Today, Boulder's Big Chill continues to bring cheer to the heart of the home through their various kitchen lines.
