With cancer affecting a staggering one in three of us, it’s no surprise that any sign of a so-called ‘cure’ will leave us excited.

Chemotherapy has been the customary treatment for cancer, but lately there’s been a heightened buzz around immunotherapy, a treatment that targets cancer cells directly and stimulates the body’s immune system to fight cancer. The past few years have seen a wave of immunotherapy drugs being licensed, with more and more being tested in clinical trials in a bid to cure cancer.

Increasing numbers of these are becoming available in the UK.
