Trump Announces New Guidelines For Reopening Schools

The president linked billions of dollars in federal aid to school districts that reopen fully, but acknowledged that in some coronavirus hotspots, the start of the school year may need to be delayed.

Public schools should delay reopening in coronavirus hotspots, but should open fully if they want to receive tens of billions of dollars in new federal aid, President Trump said in a White House briefing.

At the news conference on Thursday, Trump talked in more detail than he has in the from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on reopening schools.
