KATE GARRAWAY TELLS HOW SHE CAN FINALLY VISIT BELOVED HUSBAND DEREK IN HOSPITAL

‘I just keep focusing on all the positive things — that Derek’s still here and there are flickers of him getting stronger’

As she returned to her usual place on the Good Morning Britain sofa after a four-month absence, Kate Garraway shared some heartwarming news. In an emotional announcement, the TV presenter revealed that she would be able to see her critically ill husband Derek Draper in person for the first time since he was admitted to hospital with Covid-19 in March.

“I mighton for him today,” she told viewers. “They’ve got a TV and they’re putting it on this morning. Obviously we don’t know what he can hear or see. They didn’t realise I was on air yesterday, but they’re going to put it on today and see if there’s any reaction. We’re trying anything at the moment.”
