Visit a Minecraft photo exhibition during lockdown

Aussie photographers document 2020 bushfires in the online virtual gallery.

A photographer from the south coast of NSW held a photographic exhibition to raise money for bushfire relief entirely in a built arena. The exhibit, titled Still Burning, was intended as an online fundraiserco’. While the gallery setting was initially intended as a joke, it was also one of the only ways to hold such an event during the COVID-19 lockdown conditions. It might seem straightforward enough to host a exhibition, but the game doesn’t actually allow you to insert image files into it, so the host, Jason De Freitas, had to convert each photograph into 64 maps in order to display them collectively as 1024 x 1024 pixel minimaps in the game.
