Block Masterclass

The earliest Cathedral Window quilt was recorded as being exhibited at the 1933 Chicago World Fair. Quilts from the 1930s and 1940s have distinctive fabric and that backs up the timeline with the antique/vintage Cathedral quilts.

Cathedral Window quilts, then and now, require a lot of fabric — probably about three times as much as a traditional quilt. If you are using your scraps, and a cost-effective foundation such as muslin or calico, they can be affordable and stunning.
