Like any devoted grandmother, the Duchess of Cornwall has missed hugging her five grandchildren in lockdown and, naturally, as she approaches her 73rd birthday on 17 July, she is looking forward to reuniting with them again, albeit at a safe distance.

But at a stage in life when most are enjoying a slower pace, Camilla is busier than ever. Last week she took on three new roles, becoming patron of the domestic violence charity SafeLives, vice patron of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and patron of Australian charity Givit.

And as lockdown restrictions ease, Camilla is resuming royal engagements, socially distanced
